The following are some updated lists of utilities and services you may need.

Garbage & Recycling:

  • Western Disposal (303-444-2037) serves garbage & lawn waste pickup service. You need to recycle on your own, I go to the Boulder County recycling center at: 1901 63rd Street.

Water:

  • All houses in Boulder Heights are served by well water. Depth varies depending on location, but 200-700 ft wells are common in the district.
  • Various companies can help service your well, I use John's Well Service (303.823.5344).

Gas & Electricity:

  • There are no natural gas lines in Boulder Heights. Propane is one of the only options, and various providers will refill a rented or purchased tank. I use Fred's Propane (303-444-1787).
  • Electricity is provided by XcelEnergy (1-800-895-4999)

Internet service:

  • Qwest DSL (1 800-475-7526) provides up to 8 Mbit/s down, 1 Mbit/s up service. Naked DSL is now offered. (DSL without buying a phone line)
  • COMCAST (1-800-COMCAST) provides up to 10 Mbit/s down, 384 kbit/s up service.
  • Dialup can be obtained from a variety of providers.

Telephone:

  • Qwest (1 800-475-7526) serves the area.
  • COMCAST (1-800-COMCAST) serves the area (digital VOIP)

Television:

  • COMCAST (1-800-COMCAST) offers analog and digital cable, including High Definition locals.
  • DirecTV (1-888-777-2454) offers standard definition locals and High Definition feeds.
  • DishTV (1-888-825-2557) offers standard definition locals and High Definition feeds.
  • Free over the air analog television is available in Boulder Heights using a modest Yagi UHF antenna.
  • Free over the air digital high definition television is available in Boulder Heights using a directional UHF antenna and amplifier (as well as an ATSC tuner). You should be able to get NBC, ABC and PBS in high-definition with a little practice and patience.

Fire department:

  • Dial 911 for emergencies.
Boulder Mountain Fire Protection District (911 for emergencies, 303-440-0235) serves all of Boulder Heights.

Police:

  • Dial 911 for emergencies. Boulder County Sherriff's Department serves Boulder Heights.

Medical:

  • Dial 911 for emergencies. Boulder Mountain Fire Protection District (911 for emergencies, 303-440-0235) and PrideMark (ambulance) serve all of Boulder Heights.

Cell phone service:

  • AT&T Wireless (formerly Cingular), Sprint-NEXTEL, T-Mobile and Verizon offer cell phone service in the area. None of these companies completely cover the area, but my personal experience has been that AT&T and Verizon offer the best of poor coverage.
